Please save the date for our Healing and Preparing Country for Fire – On Country Camp.
Following on from the success of our recent camp over in the Capertee NP on Wiradjuri Country, we’d love for you to join us here in the Hunter on our beautiful Wanaruah/ Wonnarua lands. The camp will focus on preparing and healing Country in readiness for fire.
The event will include:
Harvesting and bush tucker
Medicine making
Songline kinship connections
Possum skin workshop
Tool making
Cultural burn plan development
Mens and womans weaving

Catering will be provided. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements.
This gathering is co-hosted by Mirring Aboriginal Corporation, Wanaruah Local Aboriginal Land Council, and Hunter Local Land Services, is a powerful showcase of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area (GBMWHA) project, which is part of the Saving Native Species and National Heritage Trust initiatives. It highlights the strength of Community-led collaborations in protecting both Cultural and ecological heritage.
