5 Lands Walk
Cultural Festival
22 JUNE 2025 (CANCELLED)
Connecting people to people and people to place. A cultural, physical and spiritual event that connects 5 coastal villages. Celebrating stories walking together.
The walk connects 5 coastal villages, each bringing its own celebration in and around the surf clubs of the 5 Lands. They are connected by 10km of beaches, headlands, bush, footpaths and streets.
Along the way, you will experience Aboriginal ceremony and culture, music, food, artworks, gigantic kites, whales, dance, sculptures on the beach and craft workshops. The schools of the Central Coast and many different ethnic communities will proudly share their culture, stories and artworks with you.
It's a journey at your own pace through and with the communities of the Central Coast, experiencing their diverse cultural offerings and the landscape they live in. Although the full route is about 10km long, you don't have to complete the entire walk to enjoy the wide variety of activities and experiences. You can sample just some of the programs. You can even drive between the lands or take the free shuttle bus, but completing the walk will maximise your experience.
The 5 Lands community wants you to share our love for this place we call home. We call that “connecting people to people and people to place”.
The gift we are offering you is an emotional and physical experience. You can be moved by the ceremonies, inspired by the art, thrilled by our coastline, excited to experience different cultures, bowled over by the enthusiasm and talent of our children, enthralled by the whales, delighted by the music and dance, warmed by meeting new people or reconnecting with friends and family, satisfied by completing a 10km walk.

Watch them as they interpret the land and seascapes, on the spot!

Introducing Mikaela Eddy, our 2025 Messenger for the 5 Lands Walk
My name is Mikaela Eddy, I am a 17-year- old woman proudly from the Biripi tribe, raised on Darkinjung land.
I am currently a year 12 student at Brisbane Water Secondary College Woy Woy Campus where I'm studying English, Society and culture, Community and Family studies, Visual art, and Aboriginal studies. I have a strong passion, connection and interest in my culture and my studies, which has led me to become a dedicated and hardworking student in all my classes, in particular to excel Aboriginal studies.
Further, I’ve actively participated in a variety of cultural activities and events such as the Koorana Cup. I have also had the opportunity to teach cultural dances to primary school students and to be a part of the school's Indigenous dance group. These experiences have deepened my connection with my cultural heritage and allowed me to share my culture with others.
I have a high passion for doing my best and pushing myself out of my comfort zone to achieve my goals. This drive motivates me to continuously do my best and take on new challenges with determination and enthusiasm inside and outside of school.
Looking ahead, my ambition is to attend university and pursue a career as a primary school teacher. I aspire to inspire young minds and make a positive impact on their early education. To do this, I'd like to attend Newcastle University or Macquarie University.
